Question 1

What manual work can be automated when using Splash?

Accepted Answer

Manual tasks around Splash that can be automated include syncing attendee data to other business systems after events, triggering follow-up workflows based on attendee behavior or check-in status, and bulk-updating records when event details change. Automations can watch for new registrations or check-ins in Splash and immediately push that data downstream to CRM systems, email platforms, or databases without requiring manual exports or data entry.

Question 2

How does data move between Splash and other tools in an automation?

Accepted Answer

Data flows out of Splash through API connections or webhooks that capture event registrations, attendee check-ins, and engagement signals. This data can be mapped into other systems like databases or communication tools to trigger actions. The direction is typically one-way (Splash to downstream tools), so automations pull event data from Splash rather than pushing data back into it.

Question 3

What common problems occur when automating around Splash?

Accepted Answer

Timing issues can arise if automations run before all attendee data has synced from Splash, causing incomplete records downstream. Duplicate contacts may be created if the same person registers for multiple events without deduplication logic. Field mapping mismatches happen when Splash data structures do not align with the receiving system's requirements, so custom transformation rules are often needed.

Question 4

How should I organize my Splash events and data for reliable automations?

Accepted Answer

Use consistent naming conventions and structured fields in Splash so that automated data extraction remains predictable across events. Ensure key contact fields (email, name, phone) are standardized and required to prevent gaps in downstream systems. Plan your event structure upfront so that automations can reliably identify and segment attendees by event type, registration source, or check-in status without requiring manual sorting or cleanup.
