Question 1

What kind of manual PDF creation work can I automate with CraftMyPDF.com?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the creation of PDFs from templates by triggering document generation based on incoming data from other tools. Common workflows include generating personalized documents whenever new records are created in a database, receiving form submissions, or reaching specific conditions in your system. Instead of manually filling template fields and exporting PDFs one at a time, automation platforms can send data to CraftMyPDF.com's API, which generates and delivers the final PDF without human intervention.

Question 2

How does data flow between CraftMyPDF.com and other business tools?

Accepted Answer

CraftMyPDF.com provides an API that accepts data inputs (such as contact information, amounts, dates, or custom fields) and outputs generated PDF files. Data flows in from connected tools through API calls that reference your template and pass dynamic values. Once the PDF is created, it can be routed to other systems for storage, distribution, or further processing. Your template fields act as variables that get populated with real-time data from your connected applications.

Question 3

What issues should I watch for when automating PDF generation with CraftMyPDF.com?

Accepted Answer

Common problems include mismatched field names between your template and the incoming data (causing blank sections in the output), oversized text or data overflowing template boundaries, and missing required fields that cause API errors. Template changes on CraftMyPDF.com can break automations if field names or structure shifts. Always test your workflow with sample data and validate that field mappings align exactly with your template before running at scale.

Question 4

How should I organize my CraftMyPDF.com templates for reliable automation?

Accepted Answer

Use clear, consistent field naming conventions that match exactly what your connected systems will send via the API. Document which fields are required versus optional, and set up templates that handle missing data gracefully (such as conditional sections). Keep template versions organized so you know which version is active in your automation workflows, and avoid editing live templates mid-workflow. Test any template changes in a staging environment before updating the version your automation depends on.
