Launch Plan
Competitor Intelligence Tracking
[YourCompany.com] · Sales Department · Prepared by FullSpec · [Today's Date]
This Launch Plan sets out exactly what is being built, how the build is structured, what FullSpec needs from you, and what your role looks like once the automation is live. It is written for the business owner or process owner, not for a technical team. FullSpec handles all design, build, testing, and deployment. Your involvement is limited to providing tool access, confirming one configuration decision, and reviewing the final result before go-live.
01What you're launching
Right now, someone on your sales team spends around five hours each week manually checking competitor websites, skimming Google Alerts, reviewing job posts and review sites, logging inconsistent findings to Notion, and waiting for the sales manager to compile a digest. That process is slow, uneven, and easy to skip under pressure. This automation replaces the manual research grind with two AI agents: one that runs a daily scan, scores each signal for sales relevance, and logs only what matters to Notion and HubSpot, and a second that assembles a clean weekly briefing and posts it to your Slack channel every Friday morning, ready before the Monday meeting.
Process
Competitor Intelligence Tracking
Trigger
Scheduled daily scan fires across competitor sources (6 AM), or a rep flags a competitor mention in a deal
Final output
A structured weekly competitive digest posted to Slack every Friday at 8 AM, with Notion entries logged daily and HubSpot deal notes updated automatically
Agents being built
2 agents: Intelligence Agent (daily scan, scoring, and logging) and Digest Agent (weekly briefing and Slack delivery)
Tools involved
Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, Slack, Gmail
Volume
Approximately 60 competitor signals reviewed and logged per month, across a daily scan schedule

02How the build works
FullSpec breaks every build into four sequential stages: Connect, Build, Test, and Launch. Each stage has a clear owner, a defined set of actions, and a fixed window. You are never left guessing where things stand. The stages run in order, and the FullSpec team coordinates all technical work, platform connections, and agent configuration internally. Your time commitment across the entire build is minimal and front-loaded in the Connect stage.
Complexity level: Moderate. Estimated delivery window: 4 weeks (20 business days). The delivery clock starts at the close of Connect, not payment. Connect is the stage where access and configuration decisions are confirmed. Nothing moves to Build until Connect is complete.
1Connect
Estimated time: Business days 1 to 3
FullSpec
Send the credential request checklist, confirm the competitor source schema for Google Sheets, review your existing Notion database structure and HubSpot competitor field naming, and agree the relevance scoring threshold and signal categories with you.
You
Share access credentials for Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, Slack, and Gmail. Confirm the competitor list and source URLs. Confirm the HubSpot competitor field name used on deal records. Approve the scoring threshold (default is 3 out of 5).
2Build
Estimated time: Business days 4 to 15
FullSpec
Set up the Google Sheets competitor config schema, build and connect the Intelligence Agent with AI relevance scoring and category tagging, wire scored signals to the Notion database structure, configure HubSpot deal note automation with competitor name matching logic, build the Digest Agent with Friday 8 AM schedule and Slack posting, and configure optional Gmail digest delivery to the sales manager.
You
No action required during this stage. FullSpec will flag you if a credential issue or naming conflict arises that needs a quick decision from your side.
3Test
Estimated time: Business days 16 to 18
FullSpec
Run two full weekly cycles in parallel with the manual process to validate signal scoring accuracy, Notion logging completeness, HubSpot deal note matching, and Slack digest formatting. Fix any issues and confirm all outputs against the agreed acceptance criteria.
You
Review the test digest outputs shared by FullSpec and confirm the format and content are correct for your team. Flag any competitor names or categories that look wrong. This review typically takes under 20 minutes.
4Launch
Estimated time: Business days 19 to 20
FullSpec
Switch the automation live, deactivate any parallel manual tracking where agreed, deliver the process runbook, and brief your sales team on how to read and act on the weekly digest. Monitor the first live Friday digest delivery to confirm end-to-end operation.
You
Confirm go-live approval after reviewing the Test stage outputs. Share the FullSpec runbook with the relevant team members. Attend the short team briefing (typically 15 to 20 minutes) so the sales team knows what to expect on Friday mornings.

03What FullSpec needs from you
FullSpec only needs access to your existing tools. No technical knowledge is required from you or your team. All build work, configuration, and testing is handled by the FullSpec team. The table below lists every tool credential needed and when to have it ready.
Google Sheets
Editor access to the spreadsheet used as the competitor source config, or permission to create a new one in your Google Workspace
Before Connect closes
Notion
Admin or full-access invite to the Notion workspace where the intelligence database will be created or connected
Before Connect closes
HubSpot
Super Admin access or a user token with deal read and write permissions, plus confirmation of the competitor field name used on deal records
Before Connect closes
Slack
Admin permission to install a Slack app into your workspace and the name of the sales channel where the Friday digest should be posted
Before Connect closes
Gmail
A Google account (service account or authorised user) from which the optional digest email to the sales manager will be sent
Before Connect closes
One decision required before Connect closes: You must confirm the relevance score threshold that determines which signals are logged. The default is 3 out of 5. Setting it lower captures more signals but increases noise; setting it higher keeps the Notion database clean but may miss edge-case moves. This setting can be adjusted after go-live, but agreeing a starting point before Build begins avoids rebuilding the filter logic mid-way through.
04Your role once live
Role
Ongoing responsibilities
What you no longer touch
You (business owner / sales manager)
Review the Friday Slack digest and decide on follow-up actions. Update the competitor list in Google Sheets when a new rival appears or an existing one is no longer relevant. Run a monthly spot-check of the Notion database to catch any edge-case signals the agent may have missed. Adjust the relevance threshold or category tags via FullSpec if the scoring feels off.
Manual website trawls, Google Alerts inbox skimming, ad hoc Notion logging, weekly digest writing, and manually tagging HubSpot deals with competitor notes.
FullSpec
Monitor automation health, respond to any error alerts, apply platform updates as needed, and support threshold or category adjustments on request. The FullSpec team is reachable at support@gofullspec.com for any issue that arises post-launch.
Not applicable. FullSpec owns the ongoing technical operation of the automation.

05What success looks like
Timeframe
What to expect
Sign of success
Week 1
The first live Friday digest is posted to Slack automatically. The Notion database begins populating with scored and categorised signals. HubSpot deal notes start receiving timestamped competitor updates. Some signal categories or naming may need a minor tweak based on real-world output.
The Friday digest arrives in Slack before 9 AM without anyone triggering it manually. At least one HubSpot deal record contains an automatically appended competitor note. The sales manager does not need to write or send anything.
Month 1
The Notion database builds up a structured history of competitor activity across all tracked rivals. The team settles into the habit of reading the Friday digest before the Monday meeting. Any scoring threshold or category adjustments from Week 1 are applied and stable. The sales manager reclaims approximately 40 minutes of digest-writing time per week.
Reps reference the Notion database during deal prep without being prompted. The competitor list in Google Sheets is updated at least once by the team. No signals that should have been logged are visibly missing from the digest over a four-week period.
Month 3
The automation is running fully in the background with no manual research effort from any team member. Approximately 60 structured competitor signals are logged per month compared to roughly 20 captured inconsistently before. The team enters sales calls with current competitor positioning rather than guessing. Time saved is tracking toward 250 hours per year and $13,000 in recovered staff cost.
At least one deal outcome is positively influenced by a competitor signal surfaced in the digest. The sales manager can demonstrate that the team's competitive awareness has improved without any additional time investment. The automation has run for 12 or more consecutive weekly cycles without a missed digest.
Next step: FullSpec will send your Connect checklist within one business day of you confirming you are ready to proceed. The checklist covers every credential and the single configuration decision outlined in section 03. Once that is returned and complete, the build clock starts and the FullSpec team gets to work. Questions before then can be directed to support@gofullspec.com.
