Question 1

What manual work around Weekdone can we automate?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the collection of progress data into Weekdone from other tools your team already uses, such as pulling task completion status from project management systems or extracting metrics from analytics platforms. You can also automate the distribution of Weekdone reports by sending them to communication channels, document storage systems, or email workflows after reports are finalized. This removes the need for manual copy-paste between tools and reduces time spent on report distribution.

Question 2

How does data move between Weekdone and other business tools?

Accepted Answer

Weekdone integrates with external tools through APIs and automation connectors that allow data to flow in two directions. Data can be pushed into Weekdone from source systems (like task lists or KPI dashboards), and data can be pulled out of Weekdone (like completed reports) and sent to downstream tools such as communication platforms, data warehouses, or documentation systems. The specific data structure depends on how Weekdone fields are mapped during integration setup.

Question 3

What breaks when automating with Weekdone?

Accepted Answer

Automations can fail if Weekdone user permissions are not configured correctly, preventing data from being written to or read from specific reports or teams. Timing issues occur when automations run before reports are actually published or completed in Weekdone, resulting in blank or incomplete data being sent downstream. Field mismatches between Weekdone and connected systems can cause data loss if the integration does not account for text length limits, custom field names, or formatting differences.

Question 4

How should we structure Weekdone to make automations reliable?

Accepted Answer

Establish consistent naming conventions for teams, projects, and report sections so automations can reliably identify and access the correct data. Configure user roles and permissions clearly so automation connectors have appropriate access levels without being granted unnecessary privileges. Keep custom fields standardized across teams and ensure reports follow a predictable structure, as automations depend on stable field locations and formats to extract and route data correctly.
