Question 1

What manual work can we automate by connecting Spondyr to other tools?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the process of generating and sending templated documents based on triggers from other systems. For example, when a record is created or updated in your database or CRM, you can automatically populate a Spondyr template with that data and send the rendered document to recipients without manual intervention. This eliminates repetitive copy-paste work and reduces the need to manually create documents for recurring correspondence.

Question 2

How does data flow between Spondyr and other platforms in an automated workflow?

Accepted Answer

Data typically flows into Spondyr from connected tools via API calls or webhook actions that pass values like contact names, dates, or custom fields into your template variables. Spondyr then renders the template with that data and can output the final document back to the originating system, send it via email, or push it to a storage service. The connection depends on your automation platform's ability to map outgoing data fields from source systems to Spondyr template variables.

Question 3

What problems should we watch out for when automating Spondyr workflows?

Accepted Answer

Template variable names must match exactly what your automation sends, or content will not populate correctly and documents may appear incomplete or malformed. If incoming data contains formatting issues, special characters, or unexpected values, the rendered document can look broken. Additionally, ensure your automation handles document delivery correctly after generation, as rendering success does not guarantee the file reaches the intended destination. Test with real data before running automations at scale.

Question 4

How should we organize our Spondyr templates to keep automations working reliably?

Accepted Answer

Use consistent, descriptive variable names in your templates and document what each placeholder expects (text, date format, number type). Keep templates organized by document type or frequency of use, and maintain a reference sheet mapping template variables to the data fields your connected systems will provide. Test each template independently before wiring it into an automation, and update both the template and the automation together if you change variable names or add new placeholders.
