Question 1

What manual work can I automate by connecting Publer to other tools?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the process of sending social posts to Publer from other systems, such as publishing content created in a CMS or triggering posts based on events from a database or form submission. You can also automate the extraction of performance data from Publer and route it to analytics or reporting tools. This eliminates manual copy-pasting of content or data between systems and keeps your social posting in sync with your broader business processes.

Question 2

How does data move between Publer and connected applications?

Accepted Answer

Most integrations with Publer work through webhooks or API connections that push or pull data between systems. Content details (text, images, captions, posting times) typically flow into Publer from source systems, while analytics and engagement metrics flow out to dashboards or storage. Connections are usually one-directional per workflow, so you need to map which data fields correspond between systems and confirm that required fields are populated before data reaches Publer.

Question 3

What breaks when automating Publer workflows?

Accepted Answer

Automations often fail if image URLs expire, if required metadata is missing from incoming records, or if you exceed rate limits on API calls. Social network authentication tokens can also expire, causing posts to fail to schedule. Always test that all required post fields (caption, image, platform, scheduled time) are populated in source records before automating, and monitor logs to catch authentication or data format issues early.

Question 4

How should I organize Publer to make automations reliable?

Accepted Answer

Create separate Publer accounts or workspace divisions for different content types or social networks if your automation needs differ by channel. Use consistent naming conventions for posts and campaigns in Publer so downstream automations can identify and route content correctly. Document which fields in your source systems map to Publer's required fields, and maintain a checklist of required post attributes before data is sent to Publer.
