Question 1

What manual tasks around Pointagram can be automated?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the process of awarding points and badges to team members based on actions or milestones recorded in other business tools. For example, when a record is created, updated, or completed in a connected system, an automation can trigger a point award in Pointagram without manual intervention. This eliminates the need to manually log into Pointagram and assign points each time an achievement occurs, keeping your gamification active and current.

Question 2

How does data flow between Pointagram and other tools in an automation?

Accepted Answer

When you connect Pointagram to other business tools, incoming data (such as task completion, milestone achievement, or user action) triggers an automation that sends point or badge information to Pointagram. Pointagram receives these signals and updates member scores and standings accordingly. Some automations may also read leaderboard or points data back out of Pointagram to inform decisions or reporting in other connected systems.

Question 3

What common issues arise when automating point awards in Pointagram?

Accepted Answer

Duplicate point awards can occur if automation triggers fire multiple times for a single action, or if the same source data syncs repeatedly. Mismatched user identifiers between Pointagram and connected systems may cause points to be assigned to the wrong person or fail silently. Timing delays between when an action occurs and when Pointagram receives the award signal can create confusion about when achievements were recognized.

Question 4

How should we structure Pointagram to support reliable automations?

Accepted Answer

Define clear point values and badge criteria before building automations so triggers are consistent and predictable. Ensure team member records in Pointagram have matching, unique identifiers (such as email or ID) across all connected systems so automations route awards correctly. Test automations with a small group before rolling out broadly, and regularly audit the leaderboard and points history to catch any missed or duplicate awards early.
