Question 1

What manual work can I automate when using Jammed?

Accepted Answer

You can automate tasks like sending confirmation or reminder notifications when bookings are created or modified, updating external calendars or spreadsheets when availability changes, and triggering follow-up actions based on booking status. You can also automate the process of notifying team members about new reservations or cancellations, and synchronize booking data with other business systems that track revenue or resource allocation.

Question 2

How does booking data move between Jammed and other tools?

Accepted Answer

Jammed exposes booking and availability data through its API, allowing other platforms to read booking details, create new bookings, or update existing reservations. When you connect Jammed to external tools, data typically flows in both directions: reservation information moves out to your CRM or communication platform, while contact or payment information may move back into Jammed. The structure and timing of this data exchange depends on how you configure the automation workflow.

Question 3

What common issues occur when automating Jammed workflows?

Accepted Answer

Availability data in Jammed may update asynchronously, which can cause conflicts if automations attempt to book time that has just been reserved elsewhere. Timezone handling can cause problems if your automations don't account for how Jammed stores and displays time. Additionally, some third-party tools may not sync booking cancellations back to Jammed in real time, leading to outdated information on both sides of the integration.

Question 4

How should I set up Jammed to make automations reliable?

Accepted Answer

Ensure your calendar structure and availability settings are clearly defined in Jammed before connecting to other tools, so automations can reference the correct spaces and time slots. Use consistent naming conventions for resources and booking categories, and map any custom fields or statuses in Jammed to corresponding fields in connected platforms. Test your workflows with a small set of bookings first, and monitor the flow of data between systems to catch discrepancies early.
