Question 1

What manual work around Instiller can I automate?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the process of building and sending email campaigns triggered by events in your other business tools. For example, when a new contact is added to your CRM or database, an automation can create a tailored campaign in Instiller and send it without manual intervention. You can also automate campaign creation based on contact attributes or segments, so campaigns are built and deployed on schedule rather than requiring someone to design and dispatch them manually.

Question 2

How does data flow between Instiller and other business tools?

Accepted Answer

Contact lists and attributes typically flow into Instiller from external sources like your CRM, database, or form collection tool. Instiller then uses that contact data to populate fields in email campaigns. After campaigns are sent, engagement data like opens and clicks may flow back to your other tools to update contact records or trigger downstream actions. The direction and timing of data flow depend on how you configure the connection between Instiller and your other platforms.

Question 3

What breaks when automating with Instiller?

Accepted Answer

Common issues include mismatched contact field names between Instiller and your source system, which can prevent personalization from working correctly. Campaigns may also fail to send if contact data is incomplete or invalid. If you send high volumes of campaigns without proper rate management, delivery or rendering issues may occur. Testing campaign templates across mobile and desktop before automation goes live helps catch formatting problems that could impact your audience.

Question 4

How should I organize Instiller to make automations reliable?

Accepted Answer

Set up a consistent naming convention for your campaigns, templates, and contact lists so automations can locate and reference the correct assets reliably. Map out which contact fields from your source systems will be used in Instiller, and ensure those fields are standardized and populated consistently. Create template variations for different contact segments or scenarios ahead of time, then reference them in your automations rather than building templates on the fly. Regular audits of campaign performance and delivery logs help identify when automations need adjustment.
