Question 1

What manual work can I automate when using GoTranscript?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the submission of audio and video files to GoTranscript for transcription, retrieval of completed transcripts, and routing transcripts to downstream tools or storage systems. Workflows can monitor incoming media files, automatically send them to GoTranscript, and then pull back finished transcriptions to trigger follow-up actions like document filing, notification, or processing in other business applications.

Question 2

How do files and transcripts move between GoTranscript and other tools in an automation?

Accepted Answer

Media files are typically sent to GoTranscript through API calls that reference file URLs or direct uploads, and completed transcripts are retrieved via API endpoints once processing is done. Automations monitor GoTranscript for transcript status changes, then export the final text output to connected systems like storage platforms, databases, or document management tools for further use.

Question 3

What are common problems when automating with GoTranscript?

Accepted Answer

Transcription completion times vary, so automations must account for polling delays or use status callbacks rather than assume instant results. File format compatibility, audio quality, and speaker clarity affect transcription accuracy and may require retry logic. API rate limits can impact high-volume submissions, and incomplete or failed transcriptions need fallback handling to prevent workflow stalling.

Question 4

How should I organize my GoTranscript account to make automations reliable?

Accepted Answer

Create consistent naming conventions for uploaded files so automation logic can track and match submissions to results. Organize transcripts into logical folders or projects if GoTranscript's structure allows it, and document your API credentials and account settings in a central location for the automation platform. Set clear status tracking so automations know when a transcript has been completed versus failed or pending.
