Question 1

What manual work can be automated when using Fastkey?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the submission of contact records to Fastkey for background checks, identity verification, AML/PEP screening, and CRA document verification, eliminating manual form entry. Automation can also retrieve verification results and route them to downstream systems or trigger follow-up workflows based on screening outcomes, removing the need for manual status checking and data transfer between tools.

Question 2

How does data flow between Fastkey and other business tools?

Accepted Answer

Data typically flows into Fastkey through API calls that submit contact details, identity information, or documents for screening. Results are returned through the same API connection and can be mapped into your other connected tools, databases, or document storage systems. The direction and format of data flow depends on how you configure the integration and which Fastkey services you're using.

Question 3

What problems occur most often when automating Fastkey workflows?

Accepted Answer

Verification results may take time to process, so automations that expect immediate responses can fail or timeout if not configured with proper delays or polling logic. Data formatting mismatches, incomplete contact information, or missing required fields can cause submissions to be rejected or return incomplete results. Additionally, regulatory or compliance requirements may limit how results can be used or stored, which needs to be built into your automation logic.

Question 4

How should we organize our Fastkey setup for reliable automations?

Accepted Answer

Standardize the data structure of records you send to Fastkey, ensuring all required fields are consistently populated before submission. Map Fastkey's response fields clearly to your downstream systems so results integrate without manual interpretation. Document which screening types apply to which record categories, and set up separate automation workflows for different verification needs, rather than trying to handle all checks in a single flow.
