Question 1

What manual work around transcription can I automate with Ebby?

Accepted Answer

You can automate the entire transcription workflow: uploading audio or video files to Ebby, extracting the resulting transcripts, and routing them to downstream tools or storage. Common automations include triggering transcription when new files arrive in a folder, automatically sending completed transcripts to a database or document management system, and generating subtitle files without manual intervention. This eliminates repetitive file handling and reduces the time between recording and having a usable transcript.

Question 2

How does data flow between Ebby and other tools in an automation?

Accepted Answer

Ebby receives audio or video files through API integration or file upload triggers from connected platforms. Once transcription completes, Ebby outputs the transcript text and can pass it to downstream systems like databases, document management tools, or messaging platforms. Data typically flows as transcript text, speaker labels, timestamps, and subtitle files in formats like SRT or VTT, allowing other tools to consume and act on the transcribed content.

Question 3

What are common issues when automating Ebby transcriptions?

Accepted Answer

Audio quality significantly affects transcription accuracy, particularly with background noise or unclear speech across different languages. File size limits and supported format restrictions can cause automations to fail if incoming files don't meet requirements. Timing mismatches occur when automations expect transcripts immediately but processing takes longer, requiring appropriate delays or polling mechanisms. Language detection errors may occur if audio contains mixed languages, potentially requiring manual language specification in your automation logic.

Question 4

How should I structure Ebby in my workflow for reliable automations?

Accepted Answer

Standardize your input files by format and language to reduce errors and improve transcription accuracy. Create separate automation workflows for different languages or audio types rather than handling everything in one process. Build in error handling to catch failed transcriptions or unsupported file formats, and implement fallback steps so incomplete transcripts don't break downstream processes. Use consistent naming or tagging for files entering Ebby so you can track which transcripts correspond to which source materials.
