How The Automation Works

The full workflow, from trigger to completion.

1. Product Scanned at QC Stationtrigger

A barcode or QR code is scanned, or the product ID is entered into a form. The automation platform retrieves the product details and the correct inspection checklist.

2. Capture Inspection Data via Form

An automated form (Google Form or ) is presented to the inspector with the checklist items. The inspector taps pass or fail for each criterion and adds notes. Data is saved instantly to a database.

3. Evaluate Pass/Fail Logic

The automation platform evaluates the inspection results against the pass criteria. If all items pass, the product is marked complete. If any item fails, a defect record is created automatically.

4. Route Defect to Rework Team

If the product fails, a structured defect ticket is created with the product ID, defect type, and required rework. A notification is sent to the rework team with a direct link to the ticket.

5. Update Master QC Log

All inspection results are automatically logged to the master or database in real time, with timestamps and inspector ID. No manual data entry is needed.

6. Notify Supervisor of Failures

If the daily failure rate exceeds a threshold, or if a critical defect is found, the QC supervisor receives an email summary with a link to the detailed defect log.

7. Track Rework Completion

When the rework team marks a defect ticket as complete, the automation platform sends a notification to QC to re-inspect the item. The re-inspection result is logged and linked to the original defect.
